Highfields Fitness & Recreation Centre in Toowoomba required a high-performance waterproofing solution for its wading pool facility. The project demanded a system capable of withstanding constant water immersion, heavy recreational use, and extended UV exposure in Queensland’s harsh climate. The waterproofing solution needed to deliver both immediate performance and long-term durability in a public aquatic environment subject to strict health and safety standards.
To meet the highest performance and sustainability standards, the project focused on:
- Providing UV-stable waterproofing protection suited to outdoor aquatic facilities with constant sunlight exposure
- Ensuring chemical resistance and durability appropriate for chlorinated pool environments and public recreation use
- Delivering seamless membrane application that eliminates potential leak points in critical waterproofing areas
Envirosystems Solution
Envirosystems was contracted to provide waterproofing for the wading pool at Highfields Fitness & Recreation Centre, with Enviro HP1200 and EnviroPrime P2 selected for the application. EnviroPrime P2 provided essential substrate preparation, ensuring optimal adhesion and performance of the waterproofing system.
Enviro HP1200, a two-component spray-applied, solvent-free, 100% solids polyurethane membrane, was selected for its proven performance in aquatic environments. The system is uniquely formulated to provide high elasticity, tensile and tear strengths alongside excellent abrasion resistance, making it ideally suited for swimming pools and recreational water facilities. The spray-applied installation allows the membrane to conform seamlessly to pool contours, eliminating joints and providing reliable waterproofing protection for the public facility.
