The Project
Project Details
Located in the regional centre of Geelong, Victoria, the Geelong Library and Heritage Centre is more than just a repository for books. Designed by renowned Melbourne firm ARM Architecture, this environmentally sustainable showcase features unique glass fibre reinforced cladding distinguished by approximately 550 panels. The facility encompasses community and children’s meeting spaces, staff offices, an internet zone, an IT training and technology hub, reading and community lounges, study areas and a café, serving as a contemporary cultural hub for the regional community.
To meet the highest performance and sustainability standards, the project focused on:
- Delivering waterproofing solutions aligned with the building’s environmentally sustainable design principles and iconic architectural vision
- Providing reliable protection for the unique external cladding system featuring 550 glass fibre reinforced panels
- Ensuring long-term durability and low-risk performance for a landmark cultural facility serving diverse community functions
Envirosystems Solution
Envirosystems was approached during development in 2014 to provide a waterproofing solution for the external cladding system at the Geelong Library and Heritage Centre. The specification required preparation and application of a waterproofing membrane system aligned with the sustainable design principles behind this iconic project. EnviroPrime P2 and Enviro Flex Pro were used to meet the library’s complex requirements.
EnviroPrime P2 provided essential substrate preparation for the unique cladding system, while Enviro Flex Pro delivered high-performance elastomeric polyurethane joint sealing throughout the development. The advanced technology used to manufacture these products ensured they not only met but exceeded the specific requirements of this architectural project. EnviroPrime P2 and Enviro Flex Pro provided high-quality, low-risk waterproofing protection for this landmark cultural facility.

The Project
Project Details
The University of New South Wales underwent significant redevelopment across multiple buildings, including the Science & Engineering Building, the Biological Science Building and the iconic UNSW Round House. This comprehensive campus upgrade required robust waterproofing solutions across more than 9,000m² to protect critical teaching, research and student facilities. The project demanded systems capable of meeting the durability and performance standards required for a high-traffic educational environment.
To meet the highest performance and sustainability standards, the project focused on:
- Delivering reliable waterproofing protection across diverse building types within an active campus environment
- Ensuring minimal disruption to university operations while maintaining construction quality and scheduling requirements
- Providing long-term performance and durability suitable for heavily utilised educational and research facilities
Envirosystems Solution
Envirosystems was used across multiple buildings throughout the UNSW redevelopment, covering over 9,000m² of waterproofing applications. A comprehensive range of products deployed including EnviroPrime P2, Enviro 900, Enviro 200P Ultra, Enviro BSM, Enviro Epoxy RC and Enviroseal WC.
This diverse product selection enabled tailored solutions for varied applications throughout the campus. EnviroPrime P2 provided essential substrate priming, while Enviro 900 and Enviro 200P Ultra delivered robust membrane waterproofing protection. Enviro BSM addressed below-grade blind-side waterproofing requirements, with Enviro Epoxy RC and Enviroseal WC providing specialised coating and sealing solutions. The integrated Envirosystems approach ensured reliable, long-term waterproofing performance suited to the demanding requirements of educational infrastructure, where building longevity and minimal maintenance are essential for ongoing campus operations.
